What the differences mean
Every club the two sets share has exactly the same loft, starting with a 34° 7-iron. On paper there is no distance or trajectory difference: with the same swing, a 7-iron from either set should launch and carry about the same. The real differences are in how the heads are built, how they look at address and how they feel at impact, none of which a spec table can show.
The sets are built differently: the Apex MB 21 runs 3-iron to AW (9 clubs), the Apex MB (2024) 3-iron to PW (8 clubs).
Both are blade irons, built for low single-digit handicaps who strike the ball consistently. Compact muscleback irons with minimal offset, thin toplines and the smallest sweet spot — built for shot-shaping over forgiveness. Because they target the same golfer, the decision comes down to the specific loft, feel and shaping differences rather than who the sets are made for.
The Apex MB 21 is listed as forged muscle back and the Apex MB (2024) as one-piece forged muscle back. The Apex MB 21 adds tungsten weighting, which lowers the centre of gravity and raises stability on mis-hits, helping the long irons launch.
The Apex MB (2024) arrived 3 years after the Apex MB 21, a typical one-generation refresh. Changes over that span are usually incremental: refined face thickness, revised weighting, updated looks and small loft tweaks rather than a new concept.
Which should you choose?
The Apex MB 21 and Apex MB (2024) share the same lofts on every club on file, so the difference is in head construction, feel and forgiveness rather than trajectory.
