What we collect

LoftChart is a static website. We do not ask for, collect or store personal information directly, and there are no accounts, logins or newsletter signups.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are being read. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your approximate location (derived from IP address), browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you arrived at the site. IP addresses are anonymised by Google Analytics 4 by default. This data is processed by Google and is governed by Google’s privacy policy. Analytics and advertising storage start out denied on every page load, so these cookies are only set once you consent to them; until then Google’s tags run in a mode that stores nothing on your device. You can opt out site-wide using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views and see which sites and searches send visitors here. Its script is loaded from analytics.ahrefs.com on every page. Ahrefs describes the service as cookieless: it does not set cookies or build a profile of you across sites, and it reports visits in aggregate. Your browser still makes a request to Ahrefs’ servers, which includes your IP address and user agent. That data is governed by Ahrefs’ privacy policy.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Hosting and delivery

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages and delivered through Cloudflare’s network. Every request for a page therefore passes through Cloudflare and GitHub, which process your IP address, user agent and the address of the page requested in order to deliver it and to keep server logs. Cloudflare also runs automated checks to tell visitors from bots and to block abusive traffic; these can load a small script from this site’s /cdn-cgi/ path and may set a strictly necessary security cookie. We do not receive or use this data to identify you. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and the GitHub privacy statement.

Fonts

Typefaces are served from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google’s servers when a page loads. That request includes your IP address and user agent.

Search

The site search runs entirely in your browser against a JSON file downloaded with the page. Your search terms are not sent to us or to any third party.

Outbound links and affiliate programmes

Pages may link to retailers, auction sites and archived sources. Some of these links are affiliate links: LoftChart participates in the eBay Partner Network. When you click an affiliate link, the partner may set cookies or collect information in accordance with its own privacy policy in order to attribute a referral. LoftChart receives only aggregate reporting (such as the number of clicks and any resulting commissions) and does not receive personally identifiable information about you from the programme.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top of the page.
