What the differences mean

At the 7-iron, the Epic Forged Star is 26° and the Paradym Star is 30°, a 4° gap. Each degree of loft is worth roughly 3 to 4 yards of carry at the same swing speed, so the Epic Forged Star should carry roughly 12 to 16 yards further with that club, on a slightly lower, shallower flight than the Paradym Star. Because they target the same golfer, the decision comes down to the specific loft, feel and shaping differences rather than who the sets are made for.

The Epic Forged Star is listed as forged hollow body with a cup face and the Paradym Star as hollow body with a forged 455 face cup. Both use hollow-body heads, so both trade a little feel for face flex and launch help. The Epic Forged Star adds tungsten weighting, which lowers the centre of gravity and raises stability on mis-hits, helping the long irons launch.

There are 4 years between these sets (2019 and 2023), more than one design generation. Over that time irons moved toward stronger lofts, thinner and faster faces, hollow and multi-material heads and wider use of tungsten, so the newer set is not simply a better version of the older one: it may launch and spin quite differently. Which should you choose?

The Paradym Star is the weaker-lofted set — up to 7° weaker than the Epic Forged Star. That trades raw distance for a steeper landing angle and more predictable stopping power into greens.
