About the Honma Beres Aizu
Beres Aizu is a 2022 limited-edition dress-up of the Beres 08 head, built on the identical forged mild-steel body/AM355P+ cast-face/ES235 rolled-face construction and the exact same loft, lie, offset and length table as the standard Beres 08. What sets it apart is traditional Aizu-nuri lacquerwork from the Aizu region of Fukushima applied to the clubhead, a craft Honma has used on limited runs since its earliest Beres sets. Stock shafts are the ARMRQ MX 2-Star through 5-Star graphite range at very light C9-D1 swing weights. Honma numbers the scoring clubs: the 40-degree 10 is the pitching wedge and the 45-degree 11 the gap wedge, ahead of 50-degree AW and 55-degree SW.
Stock shafts
- Honma ARMRQ MX (2-Star to 5-Star grades) — graphite · flexes: R2, R, SR, S

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of a Honma Beres Aizu 7-iron?
The Honma Beres Aizu 7-iron has a loft of 27 degrees, a lie of 62 degrees and a length of 37.25 inches — identical to the standard Beres 08 7-iron.
What is different about the Honma Beres Aizu compared to the standard Beres 08?
Nothing in the head geometry or loft/lie/length table — it is club for club identical. The Aizu edition adds traditional Aizu-nuri lacquer artwork from Fukushima's Aizu region to the clubhead as a 2022 limited-edition dress-up.
Is the Honma Beres Aizu part of the numbered Beres generations?
No — it is a limited-edition finish variant built on the Beres 08 platform (launched 2022, a year before the Beres 09 generation), not a separate numbered step in Honma's mainline Beres lineage.
Where it sits in the lineup
Introduced in 2022, the Honma Beres Aizu is a current super game improvement set in the Honma range, with no replacement announced. New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, 2nd Swing and Golf Avenue, and should be measured against this chart before buying.
- Honma's own Beres Aizu Iron product page, specification table (honmagolf.com/sea/product-details/8782) — every loft, lie, offset and length recorded here verbatim from the raw HTML spec grid: lofts 21/24/27/31/35/40/45/50/55, lie 61.0-63.0 across the 5-9 irons with a merged 63.0-degree band spanning 9 through AW and 64.0 degrees for the SW alone, offsets 4.0/3.7/3.5/3.0/2.0 mm (converted to inches here) with a merged 3.5 mm band across 7-10 and 3.0 mm across 11-AW, lengths 38.25 down to 35.0 inches with a merged 35.5-inch band across 11-AW and 35.0 inches for the SW alone, the forged mild-steel body with AM355P+ cast face (5-9) / ES235 rolled face (10-SW), the nickel-chrome double-layer plated satin finish, the ARMRQ MX 2S-5S shaft grades and the C9-D1 swing weight range. This table is identical club for club to the standard Beres 08 specification already on this site — the Aizu edition changes the lacquer artwork, not the head geometry.
- golfwrx.com 'Honma launches 2022 Beres Aizu and Black collection' — confirms the 2022 launch date and describes the Aizu edition's traditional Japanese lacquer design as the differentiator from the standard Beres 08, alongside a separate 'Black' finish option released the same year.
- Amazon listing '2022 HONMA Beres 08 Aizu Iron Set Right - 5-11, AW, SW ARMRQ MX 3-Star Graphite' — corroborates the 5-11/AW/SW set makeup and confirms the retail naming ties the Aizu edition explicitly to the Beres 08 generation.
- Note on successor/predecessor: left null because Aizu is a limited-edition finish variant of the Beres 08 platform rather than a step in Honma's mainline numbered Beres lineage; see related_models for the platform relationship.
