About the Wilson Staff Model ZM

The Staff Model ZM is Wilson's 2024 tour wedge, announced on 19 March 2024 and at retail from 2 April. The forged 8620 head carries deeper ZM grooves cut into a precision-milled, garnet-blasted face for wet-condition spin, a straighter leading edge than the previous Staff Model, and a centre of gravity that rises with loft. Wilson names no grinds — the line is sold by bounce tier instead, low (6 degrees), mid (8 to 10) and high (12) — in 10 loft/bounce combinations from 50 to 60 degrees, with 46 and 48 degree heads available by custom order. A high-toe ZM HT variant with full-face grooves is sold alongside and is not charted here.

Frequently asked questions

What lofts does the Wilson Staff Model ZM come in?

The standard line runs from 50 to 60 degrees — 10 loft and bounce combinations — with 46 and 48 degree heads available by custom order.

What bounce options does the Wilson Staff Model ZM offer?

Wilson sells it by bounce tier rather than named grinds: low (6 degrees, at 58 and 60), mid (8 degrees at 50-54 and 10 degrees at 56-60) and high (12 degrees, at 56 and 60).

Is the Wilson Staff Model ZM forged?

Yes — forged from soft 8620 carbon steel, with the ZM grooves cut into a precision-milled, garnet-blasted face.

Where it sits in the lineup

Introduced in 2024, the Wilson Staff Model ZM is a current tour wedge in the Wilson range as of October 2026, with no replacement announced. It replaced the Wilson Staff Model. New wedges are built to the loft, bounce and grind options in the chart above; a fitting can bend loft and lie from standard, so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Check the loft and bounce against the chart above before buying used — wedges are routinely bent from standard, and worn grooves cost spin long before a wedge looks worn.
