About the Yonex EZONE Elite 4.0
The EZONE Elite 4.0 is the beginner- and high-handicapper-focused iron at the top of Yonex's game-improvement range, part of a full Elite 4.0 family (driver, fairway, hybrid, irons, putter) that reached UK retail on 1 March 2023. The cast SUS431 stainless head uses Yonex's Octaforce NEO construction - weight moved from high in the blade to a low, deep peripheral position - for a 10% larger sweet spot, a lower and deeper centre of gravity, and increased face flex for a higher, more forgiving launch than the mid-market EZONE GS i-Tech, though the two share a nearly identical loft ladder through the mid-irons. Sold in several stock configurations from 5-iron or 6-iron through pitching wedge, with AW and SW options, and built with Yonex's own lightweight EX-E04 graphite shaft in Super-Lite, Regular or Stiff flex as the sole stock offering.

Where it sits in the lineup
Introduced in 2023, the Yonex EZONE Elite 4.0 is a current super game improvement set in the Yonex range, with no replacement announced. It replaced the Yonex EZONE Elite 3.0. New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, 2nd Swing and Golf Avenue, and should be measured against this chart before buying.
- golfio.com 'YONEX EZONE Elite 4.0 Iron Set - 23 Men' product page (read via cached text) — the full 4-iron-through-sand-wedge chart used here: lofts 21/23/26/29/33/38/43/49/54 degrees, lies 61.5-64.5 (4-PW; AW/SW lie not separately tabulated on the page and are recorded here as a continuation of the 64.5-degree PW lie, matching the flat PW-AW-SW lie plateau on this site's sibling EZONE GS i-Tech entry), face progression 1.75-3.25 mm (4-PW), lengths 39.5 down to 35.5 inches, SUS431 stainless precision-cast head, EX-E04 graphite shaft in Super-Lite/Regular/Stiff, and Original Elastomer grip; the same lofts and lengths for 4-PW are independently confirmed by a Yonex.com official-page synthesis via search. Multiple stock set configurations are sold (6-PW, 6-PW+SW, 5-PW+SW, 5-PW+AW+SW), all drawn from this one factory chart.
- Golf Monthly 'Yonex Ezone Elite 4 Fairway Review' and 'Yonex Ezone Elite 4 Hybrid Review' (golfmonthly.com) — confirm the Elite 4.0 family's 1 March 2023 UK retail date across the range, used here for year_introduced, and the beginner/high-handicapper positioning.
- Retailer listings (Amazon, Golfio) for 'YONEX EZONE Elite 4.0 Iron Set - 23' — corroborate the SUS431 stainless precision-cast construction, the EX-E04 graphite shaft and Elastomer grip, and the Octaforce NEO 10%-larger-sweet-spot claim; Golfio's separate 'EZONE Elite 3.0 Iron Set - 22' listing fixes the predecessor generation and year.
- Note: Yonex has reused the 'EZONE Elite' name for an unrelated 2017-era iron (reviewed by Today's Golfer in 2017) that predates the numbered 3.0/4.0 generations recorded here; this entry covers only the 2023 Elite 4.0. Offset is omitted because Yonex publishes face progression in millimetres rather than offset for this model.
