About the Yonex EZONE GT

The EZONE GT is Yonex's flagship distance iron, and this fourth-generation model went on sale in early April 2024 - the GT line has run on a two-year cycle since 2018, and this generation was still Yonex's current iron range into 2026. The "G-BRID" head forges a graphite hybrid insert into an S45C soft carbon body behind a face of Mighty Maraging Plus steel, a grade Yonex rates about 20 percent stronger than standard maraging steel, and the sole carries a slit structure that flexes at impact. Lofts are extreme even by distance-iron standards - a 25-degree 7-iron and 37-degree pitching wedge - which is why the set flows through 42-degree AW and 48-degree AS wedges to a 55-degree SW. The 7-iron's loft sits below a traditional 5-iron, so treat club-to-club comparisons accordingly. Sold in Japan as a 4-piece #7-PW set with singles either side, with the RK-04GT carbon shaft or N.S.Pro 850GH neo steel; lengths below are the steel spec (carbon builds run 0.25 inches longer). Yonex publishes face progression rather than offset, so that key is omitted.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a Yonex EZONE GT 7-iron?

The fourth-generation Yonex EZONE GT 7-iron has a loft of just 25 degrees - roughly a traditional 5-iron loft - with a 61.5-degree lie and a 37.75-inch steel length.

Why does the EZONE GT set include an AS wedge?

Because the pitching wedge is 37 degrees, Yonex fills the gap to the 55-degree sand wedge with a 42-degree AW and a 48-degree AS (approach-sand) wedge so the loft steps stay playable.

Is the Yonex EZONE GT forged or cast?

The body of the 5-iron through attack wedge is forged S45C soft carbon steel with a graphite hybrid insert; the face is Mighty Maraging Plus steel - forged in the numbered irons, rolled sheet in the PW and AW. The AS and SW use a simpler S45C body with a rolled maraging face.

Where it sits in the lineup

Introduced in 2024, the Yonex EZONE GT is a current super game improvement set in the Yonex range, with no replacement announced. It replaced the Yonex EZONE GT (2022). New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, 2nd Swing and Golf Avenue, and should be measured against this chart before buying.
