About the Callaway Apex CF16

Announced in September 2015 for the 2016 model year, the Apex CF16 replaced the original 2014 Apex as Callaway's forged players-distance iron. The body is quadruple-net forged from 1025 mild carbon steel including the hosel, with a laser-welded forged cup face. The 360 Face Cup appears only in the 3 through 7 irons; the 8-iron through A-wedge use an engineered face plate instead. Lofts, lies and lengths carry over unchanged from the 2014 Apex, with a 31 degree 7-iron and a 45 degree pitching wedge. Specs below are the standard men's steel-shaft numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Are the Apex CF16 lofts the same as the 2014 Apex?

Yes. The Apex CF16 carries over the 2014 Apex loft, lie and length chart unchanged, from a 19 degree 3-iron to a 55 degree sand wedge. The differences are in construction, not specification.

Do all the Apex CF16 irons have the 360 Face Cup?

Finding a used set

The Callaway Apex CF16 is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
