About the Callaway Opus SP+
The Opus SP+ is Callaway's 2026 extension of the Opus SP line, announced with pre-orders on 24 February 2026 and at retail from 6 March. It is a scoring-loft specialist: a three-piece head adds a metal-injection-molded face and tungsten placed high on the topline and flange — exposed on the back of the head — over a Spin Pocket about a quarter larger than the Opus SP's, pushing the centre of gravity higher still for a lower, penetrating flight with more spin. The matrix covers 54 to 60 degrees only, in 11 loft/bounce/grind combinations across three grinds, and the standard Opus SP remains in the line for the full 48 to 64 degree range. Club lengths are omitted here because no manufacturer-published length chart could be verified.

Frequently asked questions
What lofts does the Callaway Opus SP+ come in?
The Opus SP+ covers the scoring lofts only — 54 to 60 degrees in 2-degree steps, 11 loft, bounce and grind combinations. For 48 to 52 or 62 to 64 degrees, Callaway points buyers to the standard Opus SP.
What grinds does the Callaway Opus SP+ offer?
Three: the low-bounce Z (8 degrees, every loft), the all-round S (10 degrees, every loft) and the new X (12 degrees, 56 to 60 degrees).
What is the difference between the Opus SP and the Opus SP+?
The SP+ adds a metal-injection-molded face and tungsten high on the topline over a Spin Pocket about a quarter larger, for an even higher centre of gravity, lower flight and more spin. It covers only 54 to 60 degrees and costs more; the SP covers 48 to 64 degrees.
Where it sits in the lineup
Introduced in 2026, the Callaway Opus SP+ is a current tour wedge in the Callaway range as of October 2026, with no replacement announced. New wedges are built to the loft, bounce and grind options in the chart above; a fitting can bend loft and lie from standard, so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Check the loft and bounce against the chart above before buying used — wedges are routinely bent from standard, and worn grooves cost spin long before a wedge looks worn.
