What the differences mean

Both families are sold in 3 heads — ZX5 Mk II, ZX5 LS Mk II, and ZX7 Mk II for the ZX Mk II, Std, LS, and Max for the ZXi.

The ZX Mk II is sold from 8.5° to 10.5°, the ZXi from 8° to 12°. Only the ZX Mk II has a stock 8.5° and 9.5° option. Only the ZXi has a stock 8°, 9°, and 12° option.

The hosels differ: the ZX Mk II uses Quick Tune System (QTS) sleeve, ±1° of loft, 12 settings; the ZXi uses QTS 1.5 sleeve, ±1.5° of loft, 12 settings. The full setting-by-setting charts are on each model's own page.

The ZXi arrived 2 years after the ZX Mk II as its replacement. Driver generations usually carry over the loft ladder and move the technology — face design, adjustability, head options — so the older family is the value buy on the used market while the newer one holds retail price.

Which should you choose?

The ZXi is the newer generation, so it carries the current face technology and full retail availability; the ZX Mk II is the value buy used or on closeout. If the head and loft you want is only in one lineup, that decides it — otherwise the newer family is the default at equal prices, and the older one the smarter buy at a real discount.

Both families are charted in full on their own pages: Srixon ZX Mk II driver specs and Srixon ZXi driver specs.
