Lofts are the stamped stock options for each head, factory standard. The hosel chart below shows how far each can be adjusted from its stamped loft.
Hosel adjustment chart
Quick Switch · loft ±2°.
Mizuno's published range runs from the stated 59° lie to 3° upright (59-62°). Lowering loft opens the face and raising it closes it, as on any hosel-based adjuster.
Mizuno publishes the Quick Switch range per head — the 9.5° head plays 7.5-11.5°, the 10.5° head 8.5-12.5°, the 12° head 10-14° — but no position-by-position chart, so none is reproduced here. The standard setting plays the stamped loft at 59° lie.

About the Mizuno ST-MAX 230
The ST-MAX 230 is Mizuno's 2024 driver — a single 460 cc high-MOI, draw-neutral head that served as the forgiving companion to the 440 cc ST-G 230 tour model. Its face uses the Beta Rich Ti LFS alloy first seen on the ST-G, whose roughly 9% higher tensile strength allows a more aggressive face geometry over the CORTECH Chamber. The deep, low centre of gravity let Mizuno ship it at a longer 45.75-inch stock build. It was Mizuno's mainline driver until the JPX One replaced the ST series in January 2026, and it remains a strong-value used buy.
Head variants

- The single head of the line: Mizuno's highest-MOI, draw-neutral game-improvement driver of its generation, aimed at the broadest range of players. 10.5° and 12° are right-hand only; a women's build used the UST Helium NanoCore 4F1.

Frequently asked questions
What lofts does the Mizuno ST-MAX 230 come in?
9.5, 10.5 and 12 degrees, with the 10.5 and 12 right-hand only at stock. The Quick Switch hosel extends each head 2 degrees either way.
What are the ST-MAX 230 loft settings?
The Quick Switch hosel adjusts loft 2 degrees either side of stamped — the 9.5 degree head plays 7.5 to 11.5 degrees — and lie from the standard 59 degrees up to 62. Mizuno publishes the ranges rather than a position-by-position chart.
What is the difference between the ST-MAX 230 and ST-G 230?
The ST-MAX 230 is the 460 cc high-MOI, draw-neutral forgiveness head; the ST-G 230 is the compact 440 cc tour model with a dual sliding-weight track for flight tuning. They shared the Beta Rich Ti LFS face.
Is the Mizuno ST-MAX 230 still in production?
The JPX One replaced Mizuno's ST driver line in January 2026, so the ST-MAX 230 is a closeout and used-market buy — typically at a steep discount for a two-year-old flagship.
Buying one
Mizuno has since introduced the Mizuno JPX One above it in the range, so the ST-MAX 230 is at the end of its retail life rather than fully retired — closeout stock still turns up at retailers, and drivers one generation back are the sweet spot of the used market. Before buying used, check the stamped loft against the chart above and ask which hosel setting it is in — an adjustable driver may be set a degree or more away from the number on the sole, and sleeve adapters are brand- and generation-specific.
