Lofts are the stamped stock options for each head, factory standard. The hosel chart below shows how far each can be adjusted from its stamped loft.

Length note: Mizuno publishes lengths to the USGA / R&A measurement method, which reads about a quarter inch longer than its older charts without the builds changing. Lie is published only as a per-loft adjustable range (58-61° on the 3-wood), so no lie column is charted.

Hosel adjustment chart

Quick Switch · loft ±2°.

Each loft adjusts across a 4° window (the 15° 3-wood plays 13-17°), with lie moving within a 3° band as loft changes. Mizuno publishes the ranges but no position-by-position chart for the Quick Switch, so no settings table is reproduced here.

About the Mizuno ST-MAX 230

The ST-MAX 230 fairway woods launched in early 2024 with the ST-MAX 230 driver — a single high-stability head in three lofts, with Mizuno's CORTECH Chamber (an internal stainless-weighted elastomer slot) feeding face flex for ball speed. Every loft carries the Quick Switch adjustable hosel with a 4° total range. The JPX One woods replaced the line in 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What lofts does the Mizuno ST-MAX 230 fairway wood come in?

Three lofts: 15, 18 and 21 degrees. The 21 degree 7-wood is right-hand only.

Is the Mizuno ST-MAX 230 fairway wood adjustable?

Yes — every loft uses Mizuno's Quick Switch hosel with a 4 degree window, so the 15 degree 3-wood plays anywhere from 13 to 17 degrees. Mizuno publishes the ranges rather than a position-by-position chart.

What replaced the Mizuno ST-MAX 230 fairway wood?

The Mizuno JPX One fairway woods, launched for 2026 with a re-engineered CORTECH Chamber.

Buying one

Mizuno has since introduced the Mizuno JPX One above it in the range, so the ST-MAX 230 is at the end of its retail life rather than fully retired — closeout stock still turns up at retailers, and fairway woods one generation back are the sweet spot of the used market. Before buying used, check the stamped loft against the chart above and ask which hosel setting it is in — an adjustable fairway wood may be set a degree or more away from the number on the sole, and sleeve adapters are brand- and generation-specific.
