About the Ping G10

The G10 carried the G5's lofts and lengths unchanged — the 7-iron stays at 34 degrees — while widening the sole and reworking the cavity. Offset is slightly greater in the long irons (0.34 inches at the 2-iron against 0.32) and slightly less in the wedges. Ping's colour-code (dot) system sets lie angle relative to standard: gold 4 flat, brown 3 flat, orange 2 flat, red 1 flat, BLACK standard, blue 1 upright, green 2 upright, white 3 upright, silver 4 upright, maroon 5 upright. The lies below are the BLACK (standard) lies.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a Ping G10 7-iron?

The Ping G10 7-iron has a loft of 34 degrees, a standard (black dot) lie of 62.25 degrees and a steel-shaft length of 36.75 inches.

When were Ping G10 irons made?

The G10 was introduced in 2007 and was replaced by the G15 in 2009.

What is the difference between the Ping G5 and G10?

Lofts and lengths are identical. The G10 differs in offset — more in the long irons, less in the wedges — and in sole and cavity design.

Finding a used set

The Ping G10 is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
