About the Ping Glide 4.0
The Glide 4.0 is the last of Ping's Glide wedge line, announced on 15 March 2022 and replaced by the s159 in February 2024. Its multi-material head pairs 8620 carbon steel with a larger, softer activated elastomer insert for a muted feel, under a Hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish. The 46-52 heads carry wheel-cut grooves with a 20-degree sidewall for full shots, while the 54-60 heads are milled with a tighter 28-degree sidewall for spin on finesse shots. The line runs 17 loft/grind combinations from 46 to 60 degrees across four grinds, with a new Emery blast face texture.
Grind options

- S Grind46°, 50°, 52°, 54°, 56°, 58°, 60°

- W Grind54°, 56°, 58°, 60°
- Traditional full-sole, high-bounce design — the most forgiving grind through the turf, for softer conditions and steeper attack angles.
- T Grind58°, 60°
- Low-bounce half-moon sole shaping with high lead-edge bounce, for precise shot-making from firm turf at 58 and 60 degrees.

Frequently asked questions
What lofts does the Ping Glide 4.0 come in?
46 to 60 degrees — 17 loft/grind combinations. There is no 48-degree option; that loft arrived with the s159.
What grinds does the Ping Glide 4.0 offer?
Four: the all-round S at every loft, the high-bounce W (54-60 at 14 degrees), the low-bounce T (58 and 60 at 6 degrees) and the Eye2-inspired high-toe E (54-60).
What replaced the Ping Glide 4.0?
The s159, announced in February 2024, which widened the lineup to 25 combinations and added the low-bounce B grind.
Finding one used
The Ping Glide 4.0 ran from 2022 to 2024 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search the used listings on eBay. Check the loft and bounce against the chart above before buying used — wedges are routinely bent from standard, and worn grooves cost spin long before a wedge looks worn.
