About the Srixon I-701
The standard I-701 launched alongside the I-701 Tour on 8 August 2007 as the more forgiving half of Srixon's forged players pair. Where the Tour is a one-piece 1025 forging, the standard I-701 is a two-piece forged head that welds a softer 1020 carbon steel face to a 1025 body and hollows a pocket cavity behind the face, dropping the centre of gravity lower and deeper for easier launch. Srixon's launch specifications give it the Tour's lofts — a traditional 34-degree 7-iron and 46-degree pitching wedge — with lies half a degree more upright, and it was sold 3-PW with True Temper Dynamic Gold shafts until the Z-TX generation arrived.

The Srixon I-701 ran from 2007 to 2009 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search the used listings on eBay, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.

Lofts are the same for both (18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 34, 38, 42, 46); lies are 59.5 to 63.5 for the standard I-701 and 59 to 63 for the I-701 Tour, so the standard model is half a degree more upright at every club. The release gives no lengths. Lie angles above are taken from this table; an earlier forum report that the two models shared lies is contradicted by it.
