About the Takomo 201 MKII
The Iron 201 MKII replaced Takomo's forged 201 on 7 January 2026 and changes the model's character: where the original 201 was a one-piece S20C forging, the MKII is a cast 17-4 hollow body with a machined variable-thickness face plate in the 4- through 7-irons and a flat cast face in the 8-iron through pitching wedge. It is positioned as a players-distance iron with a shorter blade length, thinner sole and trimmed topline compared with the 101 MKII. The 7-iron is 31 degrees and the pitching wedge 46 degrees, and the stock set is 4-iron through pitching wedge. Offsets below are converted from Takomo's published millimetre figures.

Are the Takomo 201 MKII irons forged?

What clubs come in a Takomo 201 MKII set?
Seven clubs, 4-iron through pitching wedge, with a 46-degree pitching wedge.
Where it sits in the lineup
Introduced in 2026, the Takomo 201 MKII is a current players distance set in the Takomo range, with no replacement announced. It replaced the Takomo 201. New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, 2nd Swing and Golf Avenue, and should be measured against this chart before buying.
- takomogolf.com Iron 201 MKII product page, Clubs spec tab (retrieved July 2026) - head weight, lie, loft, offset in mm and face-thickness type for 4-iron through PW, 17-4 cast body with machined VFT face plate, and the KBS Tour / KBS Tour Lite stock shaft tables with D2 standard swing weight
- GolfLink 'Takomo MKII Irons' first look - 7 January 2026 launch, 4-PW set makeup, $649 price and the 31-degree 7-iron / 46-degree PW
- Note: golfsource.org lists a different loft set for this model (20/23/27/31/35/40/46); Takomo's own table is used here
- Club lengths: Takomo's MKII product pages do not publish a length row in their spec table (verified against takomogolf.com July 2026 - the table carries head weight, lie, loft, offset and face thickness only). Note this is specific to the MKII pages: the earlier WooCommerce-era pages for the 101, 101T and 201 did publish lengths. The 38.5"-to-35.5" half-inch progression used here is the one 2nd Swing Golf lists for the Takomo 201 and 301 CB sets, applied across the Takomo iron line; treat lengths as corroborated for the 201/301 and inferred for the other models
