About the TaylorMade Qi Max HL
The Qi Max HL is the high-launch, lightweight companion to the 2026 Qi Max, replacing the Qi HL in the same role: it shares the Qi Max's lies and lengths but weakens the lofts by up to three degrees — 31 degrees at the 7-iron against 28 — and lightens the whole build, with lighter head, shaft and grip bringing the steel swing weight down to C9 against the Qi Max's D1. The head is a larger, more offset profile than the Qi Max, with a thicker top line, and it carries the same Cap Back construction, ECHO Damper, Thru-Slot Speed Pocket and FLTD CG progression. The published set runs from a 23.5-degree 5-iron to a 55-degree sand wedge with 5-PW the stock build, and it is one of the few TaylorMade irons offered in a dedicated women's build with its own swing weights. It launched alongside the Qi Max, with presale on 8 January 2026 and retail on 29 January 2026. Offsets are converted from TaylorMade's published millimetre figures, and swing weights below are the men's steel build (graphite runs C7, the women's build C0-C1).

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of a TaylorMade Qi Max HL 7-iron?
The TaylorMade Qi Max HL 7-iron has a loft of 31 degrees, with a 63-degree lie and a 37.25-inch steel-shaft length — three degrees weaker than the standard Qi Max 7-iron.
What is the difference between the TaylorMade Qi Max and Qi Max HL?
HL stands for high launch. Lies and lengths are the same, but every Qi Max HL loft is weaker — up to three degrees, with 31 against 28 at the 7-iron — and the head, shaft and grip are all lighter, dropping the steel swing weight from D1 to C9. The HL head is also larger, with a thicker top line and more offset.
What clubs come in a stock TaylorMade Qi Max HL set?
The stock set is 5-iron through pitching wedge. The published range runs from a 23.5-degree 5-iron to a 55-degree sand wedge, with the 50-degree approach wedge and the sand wedge sold separately — there is no 4-iron or lob wedge.
Is there a women's version of the Qi Max HL?
Yes. TaylorMade publishes a dedicated women's build with its own swing weights (C0 through the set, C1 in the sand wedge) and a 45-gram L-flex TaylorMade x KBS Reax HL graphite shaft.
Where it sits in the lineup
Introduced in 2026, the TaylorMade Qi Max HL is a current super game improvement set in the TaylorMade range, with no replacement announced. It replaced the TaylorMade Qi HL. New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, 2nd Swing and Golf Avenue, and should be measured against this chart before buying.
