About the TaylorMade r7 Draw

The r7 Draw iron was TaylorMade's draw-biased game-improvement model, launched in November 2006 and sold through the 2007 season. Weight was removed from the toe side of the cavity and repositioned to move the centre of gravity back and toward the heel, encouraging faster face rotation through impact. It pairs maximum offset, a wide cambered sole and an ultra-deep cavity with an aluminium-and-bonding-compound dampening web for feel. Specs below are the men's standard steel-shaft build.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a TaylorMade r7 Draw 7-iron?

The TaylorMade r7 Draw 7-iron has a loft of 32 degrees, with a 63-degree lie and a 36.75-inch steel-shaft length.

What made the r7 Draw irons draw-biased?

TaylorMade removed weight from the toe side of the cavity and repositioned it so the centre of gravity sat further back and closer to the heel. Combined with maximum offset, this helps the clubface rotate closed through impact to promote a draw or a straighter shot.

What is the pitching wedge loft on the r7 Draw?

The r7 Draw pitching wedge is 44 degrees, with a 49-degree approach wedge, 54-degree sand wedge and 59-degree lob wedge available in the set.

Finding a used set

The TaylorMade r7 Draw is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
