About the TaylorMade Stealth HD

Stealth HD arrived a year after the Stealth iron, announced in January 2023 alongside the Stealth 2 metalwoods, as a line extension rather than a replacement — aimed at slower swing speeds and at players who miss to the right. TaylorMade called it its first super-game-improvement iron. It uses the same Cap Back design and ECHO Damping System but adds a draw bias, a very low centre of gravity that shifts progressively higher through the set, and much wider soles. Bounce is far higher than on the standard Stealth, from 11 degrees in the 5-iron to 16 degrees in the sand and lob wedges, and the lie angles are half a degree to one degree more upright. The 7-iron is 30 degrees, two degrees weaker than the standard Stealth. Specs below are the men's standard steel-shaft build.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a TaylorMade Stealth HD 7-iron?

The TaylorMade Stealth HD 7-iron has a loft of 30 degrees, with a 63.5-degree lie and a 37.25-inch steel-shaft length.

How is the Stealth HD different from the standard Stealth iron?

Stealth HD is a draw-biased, higher-launching companion model rather than a replacement. Its lofts are about two degrees weaker (30 degrees at the 7-iron against 28), its lie angles are half a degree to one degree more upright, and its bounce is roughly twice as high across the set.

Does the Stealth HD iron set include a 4-iron?

No. The Stealth HD set starts at the 5-iron, which is 23.5 degrees, and runs through to a 59-degree lob wedge. TaylorMade expected buyers to fill the long-iron gap with hybrids or fairway woods.

What is the pitching wedge loft on the Stealth HD?

The Stealth HD pitching wedge is 44.5 degrees, a degree and a half weaker than the standard Stealth. It is followed by a 49-degree approach wedge, a 54-degree sand wedge and a 59-degree lob wedge.

Where it sits in the lineup

Introduced in 2023, the TaylorMade Stealth HD is a current super game improvement set in the TaylorMade range, with no replacement announced. New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, 2nd Swing and Golf Avenue, and should be measured against this chart before buying.

  • Note on the year, corrected: this file previously recorded year_introduced as 2022 and year_discontinued as 2023. golfwrx.com 'TaylorMade introduces all-new Stealth HD irons', si.com 'Meet TaylorMade's 2023 Releases: Stealth 2 Driver, Fairway Woods, and Stealth HD Irons' and the MyGolfSpy launch thread all date the announcement to 10 January 2023, with retail from 17 February 2023 — a year after the standard Stealth iron. year_introduced is corrected to 2023 and year_discontinued set to null, since no successor is recorded and 2023 cannot be both the launch and the end.
