About the Titleist Vokey SM8
The SM8 is the 2020 generation of the Vokey Design line, at retail from March 2020 until the SM9 replaced it in early 2022. Its reimagined progressive centre of gravity — pushed forward ahead of the face — made it the most accurate and forgiving Vokey to that point, with grooves cut to the edge and a heat-treated impact area for durability. The standard matrix ran 23 loft/bounce/grind combinations from 46 to 62 degrees across six grinds (F, S, M, D, K, L); the low-bounce T grind was still a WedgeWorks custom in this generation. Finishes were Tour Chrome, Brushed Steel, Jet Black, Raw and a premium Slate Blue.
Grind options
The sole grinds this model is sold in, with the lofts each one is available at.
- F Grind46°, 48°, 50°, 52°, 54°, 56°
- The all-purpose wedge grind for full wedge shots — a traditional sole suited to square-face swings, and the only option at the strong lofts from 46 to 52 degrees.
- S Grind54°, 56°, 58°, 60°
- A narrow and versatile grind — a full sole trimmed by a trailing-edge grind, best in neutral to firm conditions.
- M Grind56°, 58°, 60°, 62°
- The multi-purpose grind for versatility — Bob Vokey's favourite, for players who rotate the face to manufacture greenside shots.
- D Grind54°, 56°, 58°, 60°
- The player's high-bounce grind — heel, toe and trailing-edge versatility with forgiveness from high measured bounce, for steeper attack angles.
- K Grind58°, 60°
- The ultimate bunker club — the highest bounce in the lineup on a wide, cambered full sole.
- L Grind60°
- Precision for skilled shotmakers — the lowest-bounce option, offered only as the 60.04, for firm conditions and complete control at impact.

Frequently asked questions
What lofts does the Titleist Vokey SM8 come in?
The Vokey SM8 was sold from 46 to 62 degrees in 2-degree steps — 23 loft, bounce and grind combinations.
What grinds does the Vokey SM8 offer?
Six in the standard line: F (46-56 degrees), S (54-60), M (56-62), D (54-60), K (58-60) and the low-bounce L at 60 degrees only. The T grind was a WedgeWorks custom in this generation.
Is the Vokey SM8 still in production?
No — the SM9 replaced it in early 2022, two generations ago. The used market is the only source, and SM8s remain among the most traded wedges on it.
What bounce options does the SM8 have at 58 and 60 degrees?
At 58 degrees: 8 (M), 10 (S), 12 (D) and 14 (K). At 60 degrees those four plus the 4-degree L grind.
Finding one used
The Titleist Vokey SM8 ran from 2020 to 2022 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search the used listings on eBay. Check the loft and bounce against the chart above before buying used — wedges are routinely bent from standard, and worn grooves cost spin long before a wedge looks worn.

- 2nd Swing and Rock Bottom Golf SM8 spec listings (64-degree lie on all models, lengths 35.75/35.5/35.25/35.0 inches by loft group, D3/D5 swing weights, Dynamic Gold S200 stock shaft), accessed October 2026, in agreement with each other
- Note: the head alloy (cast 8620 carbon steel) is per Bob Vokey's published statements for the line; Titleist's pages do not state it.
