About the Adams Idea Pro Forged
The Idea Pro Forged is the first forged players' set in the Idea line, announced on 19 September 2006 and shipping from 1 October 2006 at 899 USD in steel and 1,099 USD in graphite. The eight-club stock make-up pairs the tour-proven 20-degree 3 and 23-degree 4 Idea Pro i-Woods - then the most-played hybrids across the PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours - with six compact cavity-back irons forged from soft 8620 carbon steel, with minimal offset and a satin finish. Lofts are traditional for a players' iron, with a 34-degree 7-iron and a 46-degree pitching wedge. Only the irons are listed below; the two i-Woods are hybrids. Conventional 3- and 4-irons, a TriTech 4-iron and GW, SW and LW heads were available to order, and Allen Doyle won the 2006 U.S. Senior Open with the set's hybrids in play.

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of an Adams Idea Pro Forged 7-iron?
The Adams Idea Pro Forged 7-iron has a loft of 34 degrees, with a 61.5-degree lie and a 37-inch length.
What clubs come in a stock Adams Idea Pro Forged set?
Eight clubs: 20-degree 3 and 23-degree 4 Idea Pro i-Wood hybrids, then forged 5-iron through pitching wedge. Conventional forged 3- and 4-irons, a TriTech 4-iron and GW, SW and LW heads were custom options.
Are Adams Idea Pro Forged irons really forged?
Yes. The 5-iron through pitching wedge are forged from soft 8620 carbon steel with a compact cavity-back shape, minimal offset and a satin finish; the two i-Wood hybrids in the set are not forged irons.
Finding a used set
The Adams Idea Pro Forged ran from 2006 to 2008 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
