About the Ben Hogan Edge CFT Hybrid
The Edge C•F•T Hybrid "h" Iron Set — the gap-analysis brief's "Apex Edge CFT" refers to this 2004 line, which built on the 2003 Edge CFT by adding true hybrid heads — pairs Hogan's Compression Forged Titanium face technology (a titanium face compression-forged onto a 17-4 stainless steel body for perimeter and sole weighting) with 3h and 4h hybrid heads that replace the standard 3- and 4-irons for easier long-iron shotmaking. A low, deep center of gravity from the two-piece, undercut-cavity construction is pitched for a higher launch angle and higher moment of inertia — "higher, longer and more accurate ball flight." Every club from 1 through 5 was also offered as a conventional iron head alongside its "h" hybrid counterpart, so the loft/lie/length ladder below uses the standard iron heads for 1-9 plus the wedges. Hogan's letter wedges are recorded here as PW (Equalizer, 46°), GW (F wedge, 50°), SW (56°) and LW (60°). It was sold right hand 1-E/F/S/L and left hand 2-E/S, at $825 (steel) or $900 (graphite).

Where it sits in the lineup
Introduced in 2004, the Ben Hogan Edge CFT Hybrid is a current players distance set in the Ben Hogan range, with no replacement announced. It replaced the Ben Hogan Edge CFT. New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, 2nd Swing and Golf Avenue, and should be measured against this chart before buying.

- golfclubshaftreview.com Ben Hogan shaft-ladder PDF (benhogan_1.2.pdf) — lists '2003 Edge CFT Irons' and '2004 Edge CFT Hybrid Irons' as separate, consecutive entries with an Apex Edge steel or graphite shaft, corroborating the 2004 introduction year for the hybrid-equipped set used here
- thesandtrap.com forum thread 'Ben Hogan Edge CFT Iron Info' and 2ndswing.com's Edge CFT Hybrid iron-set listing — corroborate the 3h/4h hybrids replacing the 3- and 4-irons for easier long-iron play, and the two-piece titanium-face/stainless-body construction
- Deviation from the initial gap-analysis brief: the model is filed here as 'Edge CFT Hybrid' rather than 'Apex Edge CFT,' matching Hogan's own product name; the plain, non-hybrid 'Edge CFT' launched in 2003 and is the direct predecessor named in the description
