About the Callaway Elyte X

The Elyte X is the higher-launching, more forgiving model in Callaway's 2025 Elyte iron family, sitting above the standard Elyte with lofts a degree stronger — a 28-degree 7-iron and a 41-degree pitching wedge against the Elyte's 29 and 42 — and noticeably more offset at 5.6 mm in the 4-iron against 4.2. It uses the same Speed Frame construction, which connects the body to the topline so the body stays stiff while the face flexes, and the Ai 10x face, built from ten times as many control points as the Ai Smart Face before it, plus a tri-sole design with three distinct sections for turf interaction. The chart runs from the 4-iron to a 54-degree sand wedge on the same lie and length progression as the standard Elyte. The line lasted a single season: Callaway's Quantum irons replaced the Elyte family in January 2026, with the oversized Quantum Max OS taking over the Elyte X's slot. Figures are the men's standard steel build.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a Callaway Elyte X 7-iron?

The Callaway Elyte X 7-iron has a loft of 28 degrees, a lie of 62.5 degrees and a steel-shaft length of 37.25 inches.

What is the difference between the Callaway Elyte and Elyte X irons?

The Elyte X is the more forgiving model: its lofts are one degree stronger through the set (28-degree 7-iron against 29), it carries noticeably more offset (5.6 mm at the 4-iron against 4.2), and it adds a tri-sole design, while lie angles and lengths are identical. The stock steel shaft is also lighter, a Vector 80 against the Elyte's Vector 90.

Are the Callaway Elyte X irons discontinued?

Yes. The Elyte family lasted one season; Callaway's Quantum iron line replaced it in January 2026, with the oversized Quantum Max OS covering the Elyte X's slot.

Finding a used set

The Callaway Elyte X ran from 2025 to 2026 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.

Data compiled from:
  • callawaygolf.com Elyte X Irons product page specification table (https://www.callawaygolf.com/golf-clubs/irons/irons-2025-elyte-x.html) — loft, lie, length, offset (in millimetres) and swing weight for the 4-iron through sand wedge, the True Temper Vector 80 steel stock shaft, the Lamkin Crossline Black/Grey 50g grip, and the Speed Frame, Ai 10x face and tri-sole technology descriptions. Offset is converted to inches here.
  • Same product page: swing weight is listed as D2/D0 (steel/graphite, matching the convention on the standard Elyte page); the steel figure is recorded. Bounce was not published and is omitted rather than estimated.
  • Today's Golfer, 'Callaway are returning to what they do best with their 2026 Quantum irons' — the Quantum line launched 16 January 2026 and replaces the Elyte family, which sets year_discontinued to 2026. Golf Monthly's Quantum Max and Quantum Max OS review places the Max OS against 'last year's Elyte X', which is the basis for the successor field.
