About the Cobra Darkspeed
The Darkspeed is Cobra's 2024 game-improvement iron and the standard-length version of a set also sold in ONE Length. Unlike the mixed sets Cobra had been building, every iron in this set uses a metalwood-inspired hollow body, which frees up weight for a more unsupported face; the hollow cavity is filled with a soft polymer for damping. The face is a larger PWRSHELL insert with an updated H.O.T. variable-thickness pattern. Lofts are marginally weaker than the Aerojet through the middle of the set: the 7-iron is 27 degrees and the pitching wedge 42 degrees, on a 37.25-inch 7-iron. The stock set is sold as 4-iron through pitching wedge or 5-iron through gap wedge, in right and left hand and in both steel and graphite. Swing weights below are the steel-shaft values, and offsets are converted from Cobra's published millimetre figures.
Stock shafts
- KBS Tour 90 — steel · flexes: S, R
- KBS PGI 65 / 75 / 85 — graphite · flexes: Lite, R, S

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of a Cobra Darkspeed 7-iron?
The Cobra Darkspeed 7-iron has a loft of 27 degrees, a lie of 63.5 degrees and a length of 37.25 inches.
What clubs come in a stock Cobra Darkspeed set?
Cobra sold the Darkspeed irons as a 4-iron through pitching wedge set or a 5-iron through gap wedge set, both seven clubs. A sand wedge was also catalogued.
Is every Cobra Darkspeed iron a hollow-body design?
Yes. Unlike Cobra's earlier mixed-construction sets, the Darkspeed uses a hollow body in every iron, with the cavity filled with a soft polymer for damping.
Finding a used set
The Cobra Darkspeed is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
