About the Cobra KING
The KING is Cobra's 2025 tour wedge, announced on 21 January 2025, at retail from 6 March 2025 and still current. It replaced the Snakebite and returned the line to Metal Injection Molding, which Cobra credits with roughly 50 percent tighter tolerances than cast wedges. Flight Window Technology moves the CG by loft — low in the 48-52, mid in the 54-56, high in the 58-60 — while Progressive Spin Technology pairs narrow, deep grooves on the strong lofts with wide, shallow grooves up top, behind a Speed Notch 67 percent larger than before. The 17-combination matrix runs 48 to 60 degrees across four grinds, in Satin Chrome, Black QPQ and custom-only Raw finishes; only the Versatile grind is offered left-handed (50-60). The cavity-back KING X is a separate model.

Frequently asked questions
What lofts does the Cobra KING wedge come in?
48 to 60 degrees in 2-degree steps — 17 loft, bounce and grind combinations. Left-handed heads come only in the Versatile grind at 50-60 degrees.
What grinds does the Cobra KING offer?
Four: the all-round Versatile at every loft, the high-bounce Drop (52-60), the wide low-bounce Widelow (56-60) and the Tour grind with maximum heel and toe relief (58-60).
What is MIM construction on the Cobra KING?
Metal Injection Molding — the 8620 steel head is formed from metal powder and sintered, which Cobra says holds roughly 50 percent tighter tolerances than traditional casting for more consistent shaping and a softer feel.
What replaced the Cobra Snakebite?
This KING wedge took over from the Snakebite in March 2025, alongside the cavity-back KING X for game-improvement players.
Where it sits in the lineup
Introduced in 2025, the Cobra KING is a current tour wedge in the Cobra range as of October 2026, with no replacement announced. It replaced the Cobra Snakebite. New wedges are built to the loft, bounce and grind options in the chart above; a fitting can bend loft and lie from standard, so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Check the loft and bounce against the chart above before buying used — wedges are routinely bent from standard, and worn grooves cost spin long before a wedge looks worn.
