About the Cobra King Cobra SS Oversize
The King Cobra SS Oversize is Cobra's 2002 oversize game-improvement iron and the set the SS-i Oversize replaced a year later. It is investment cast from 17-4 stainless steel, with tungsten inserts in the 2-, 3- and 4-irons to drop the centre of gravity in the hardest clubs to launch, and a skid sole for turf interaction. Lofts are traditional: the 7-iron is 34 degrees and the pitching wedge 45 degrees, roughly a degree weaker through the middle of the set than the SS-i that followed. Cobra sold the stock set as 3-iron through pitching wedge, with a 2-iron and gap, sand and lob wedges available separately, in both right and left hand. Cobra's own published table for this set gives lengths for graphite builds only; the steel lengths below are the graphite figures less half an inch, which is exactly the graphite-to-steel offset Cobra published for the successor SS-i Oversize across an identical length ladder — see `sources`. Cobra also published an offset column whose values run backwards relative to normal convention (increasing toward the wedges), so, as with the SS-i record, they are not reproduced here.

Finding a used set
The Cobra King Cobra SS Oversize is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
- golfclubspec.com iron specification database, entry 'King Cobra SS Men's Oversize' (iron_results.php?id=76) — retrieved directly; supplies the model year (2002), loft, lie, length, offset and the combined graphite/steel swing weight column (D0/D2) for the 2-iron through lob wedge, plus the 17-4 stainless / tungsten-insert head description and the Precision Microtaper and Cobra/Aldila HM Tour stock shafts
- qsponge.com club-specification page 'What is loft angle of Cobra King Cobra SS Men's Oversize Irons?' — independently reproduces the same loft, lie and length table, corroborating golfclubspec
- Cobra Golf official 'Men's Oversize Irons' product page (cobragolf.com/m_oversize_irons_uk.htm), archived 2002-06-10 via web.archive.org — retrieved directly; supplies the stock set composition ('Set Includes: 3 - Pitch. 2 iron, gap, sand and lob wedges available', right and left hand), the oversize cast 17-4 stainless head with tungsten insert in the 2, 3 and 4 irons, the skid sole, and the Precision Microtaper steel and Cobra/Aldila HM Tour graphite shaft options
- Steel lengths are derived, not published: both secondary tables above carry only Cobra's graphite length column. Cobra's own 'COBRA IRON SPECIFICATIONS' page (cobragolf.com/irons/specs.asp), archived 2004-02-21 via web.archive.org, lists the successor King Cobra Men's SS-i Oversize with an identical graphite length ladder and a steel column exactly 0.50 inch shorter at every club; that constant has been applied here and is flagged in the description
