What the differences mean

At the 7-iron, the G Le2 is 30.5° and the G Le3 is 29.5°, a 1° gap. Each degree of loft is worth roughly 3 to 4 yards of carry at the same swing speed, so the G Le3 should carry roughly 3 to 4 yards further with that club, on a slightly lower, shallower flight than the G Le2. Across the 7 clubs both sets share, the G Le3 averages 0.4° stronger, with the largest gap at the 6-iron (27° vs 25°). The pitching wedges are 45° and 46°; the stronger one leaves a 5° jump to a 50° gap wedge, which matters when planning wedge gapping.

Both are super game improvement irons, built for high handicaps, beginners and slower swing speeds. The most forgiving category — very wide soles, maximum perimeter weighting and the strongest lofts. Because they target the same golfer, the decision comes down to the specific loft, feel and shaping differences rather than who the sets are made for.

The G Le2 is listed as investment cast with COR-Eye face technology and a tungsten toe weight and the G Le3 as investment cast. The G Le2 adds tungsten weighting, which lowers the centre of gravity and raises stability on mis-hits, helping the long irons launch.

There are 4 years between these sets (2019 and 2023), more than one design generation. Over that time irons moved toward stronger lofts, thinner and faster faces, hollow and multi-material heads and wider use of tungsten, so the newer set is not simply a better version of the older one: it may launch and spin quite differently. Here the 7-iron loft moved from 30.5° to 29.5°.

Which should you choose?

The G Le3 is the stronger-lofted set — up to 2° stronger than the G Le2 on matching clubs. Expect longer carry per numbered iron but a flatter descent angle; gapping at the wedge end is where that shows up.
