What the differences mean

Both families are sold in 4 heads — Std, Tour, Max, and Max Lite for the Qi35, Std, Tour, Max, and Max Lite for the Qi4D.

The Qi35 is sold from 15° to 24.5°, the Qi4D from 15° to 24°. Only the Qi35 has a stock 15.5°, 18.5°, 21.5°, and 24.5° option. Only the Qi4D has a stock 24° option.

Adjustability is a wash: both use the same hosel system (4° Loft Sleeve, ±2° of loft, 12 settings), so a given head reaches the same effective loft window in either generation.

The Qi4D arrived 1 year after the Qi35 as its replacement. Fairway wood generations usually carry over the loft ladder and move the technology — face design, adjustability, head options — so the older family is the value buy on the used market while the newer one holds retail price.

Which should you choose?

The Qi4D is the newer generation, so it carries the current face technology and full retail availability; the Qi35 is the value buy used or on closeout. If the head and loft you want is only in one lineup, that decides it — otherwise the newer family is the default at equal prices, and the older one the smarter buy at a real discount.

Both families are charted in full on their own pages: TaylorMade Qi35 fairway wood specs and TaylorMade Qi4D fairway wood specs.
