About the Fourteen TC-788 Forged
The TC-788 Forged was Fourteen's distance take on the forged tour iron — "exceptional distance in a forged tour iron with forgiveness" in the company's own line — launched in Japan in November 2017 and sold in the US from 2018 at $1,349.99 for a 4-PW set. Each compact head is forged by Endo from a single piece of S20C soft steel with an externally visible undercut cavity that drives the centre of gravity unusually low and deep, and no two heads share dimensions: the 6-iron blade stands 3 mm taller than the 7-iron as the set progresses from distance-biased long irons to control-biased scoring clubs. Offset is minimal and the thick sole carries a heavily bevelled trailing edge so it plays thinner than it measures. Lofts sit at a 31-degree 7-iron and 45-degree pitching wedge; the stock set ran #5-PW with the #4 sold separately, and Fourteen matched it to the pocket-cavity TP-766 long irons for combo sets. The lengths below are the factory chart for the stock N.S.PRO 950GH HT build; the Modus3 Tour 105 option ran a quarter-inch shorter. It moved to Fourteen's archive section in 2020.

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of a Fourteen TC-788 7-iron?
The Fourteen TC-788 Forged 7-iron has a loft of 31 degrees, a lie of 61.5 degrees and a length of 37.25 inches in the stock N.S.PRO 950GH HT build.
Is the Fourteen TC-788 forged?
Yes — each head is forged by Endo from a single piece of S20C soft carbon steel, with an undercut cavity machined into the design for a deep, low centre of gravity.
What clubs came in a Fourteen TC-788 set?
The stock set ran 5-iron through pitching wedge, with the 4-iron sold as an add-on; Fourteen suggested pairing the pocket-cavity TP-766 in the long irons for a combo set.
Why do Fourteen TC-788 lengths look unusual?
Fourteen published a different length ladder per stock shaft — 39 to 35.75 inches in quarter-inch-odd steps for the 950GH HT build recorded here, and a quarter-inch shorter throughout for the Modus3 Tour 105 build.
Finding a used set
The Fourteen TC-788 Forged ran from 2017 to 2020 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
- Fourteen official TC-788 FORGED factory spec chart (fourteen.co.jp files, archive.org capture: TC788-graph.jpg from the product page at fourteen.co.jp/products/iron/tc-788fg/) — #4-P lofts 21/24/27/31/35/40/45, lies 60-63, and per-shaft length ladders: 39 to 35.75 inches with N.S.PRO 950GH HT (S/R, recorded here) and 38.75 to 35.5 with N.S.PRO Modus3 Tour 105, plus swing weights, CG data and face progression 3.9-4.2 mm.
- Fourteen official English TC-788 FORGED product page (fourteen.co.jp/en/products/iron/tc-788fg/, archive.org capture of 18 July 2019) — forged S20C soft steel head, nickel-chrome-plated satin finish, N.S.PRO 950GH HT stock shaft (S 98 g / R 94.5 g), the six-piece #5-P stock set with #4 as an add-on, the undercut-cavity deep-CG construction copy, the TP-766 combo pairing, and the manufacturer's stated launch date of November 2017.
- GolfWRX 'Fourteen introduces new TC-788 iron' and Willie's Blog first look, 10 November 2017 — the Endo forging, the per-club individualized dimensions (6-iron blade 3 mm taller than the 7-iron), minimal offset, bevelled trailing edge and the $1,349.99 US 4-PW set price; US availability followed in 2018.
- year_discontinued 2020: by Fourteen's site captures of late 2020 the TC-788 had moved to the fourteen.co.jp /archive/ section of discontinued models. Offset and bounce are omitted because Fourteen publishes face progression rather than offset and lists no bounce.
