About the MacGregor V-FOIL 1025C
The Tourney VIP V-FOIL 1025C — clubs are stamped "VIP Tourney V-FOIL Forged" — was the forgiving half of MacGregor's V-FOIL forged pair, sold alongside the 1025M muscleback. Its V-FOIL cavity is about 23 percent larger than a traditional blade's, and MacGregor pitched the result as forgiveness "any 0-36 handicapper will love" while keeping a forged 1025 carbon steel head with progressive offset under a nickel chrome finish. Lofts are mid-era traditional with a 33.5-degree 7-iron and 45-degree pitching wedge across a 2-PW range. Stock shafts were True Temper's Pro-Pel Lite low-bend steel or Graphite Design Distance Series graphite; published lengths are steel, with graphite builds half an inch longer. The Maltby MPF chart dates the design 2001; the spec database files it as a 2002 catalogue model, the announcement-versus-model-year gap recorded here per convention.

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of a MacGregor V-FOIL 1025C 7-iron?
The MacGregor V-FOIL 1025C 7-iron has a loft of 33.5 degrees, a lie of 62.5 degrees and a steel-shaft length of 37 inches.
What is the difference between the MacGregor 1025C and 1025M?
Both are forged from 1025 carbon steel with V-FOIL weighting, but the 1025C is the cavity back — a cavity about 23 percent larger than a traditional blade, slightly stronger lofts (33.5 versus 35 degrees at the 7-iron) and lighter stock shafts — while the 1025M is the muscleback for better players.
Are MacGregor V-FOIL 1025C lengths for steel or graphite shafts?
The published lengths are for steel shafts. MacGregor's chart notes graphite builds run half an inch longer per club.
Production status
Introduced in 2001, the MacGregor V-FOIL 1025C has no confirmed end date on file. LoftChart records a discontinuation year only where a source dates it, and none has been found for this set, so it may or may not still be in the MacGregor catalogue — check with MacGregor or a retailer before counting on a new set. Used sets appear on eBay, and should be measured against the chart above before buying, since irons are routinely bent from standard.

- The GolfWorks Maltby MPF ratings chart (golfworks.com/content/PDFs/Head_MPFs/MPFRatingsChart.pdf) — lists 'MACGREGOR V-Foil 1025c (forged)' as a 2001 introduction, the year recorded here; golfclubspec files the specs under 2002
- Note: MacGregor never published per-club offset or bounce for this model; those keys are omitted. No end-of-production year was published — the V-FOIL era gave way to MACTEC from 2004, but the date is unverified, so year_discontinued is left open
