About the MacGregor V-FOIL 1025M
The Tourney VIP V-FOIL 1025M was the muscleback of MacGregor's early-2000s V-FOIL forged pair, which MacGregor described as a modernised version of the 1967 VIP muscleback — the Nicklaus-era icon — aimed at 15-and-under handicappers, and it was played on tour by Lee Janzen and Jose Maria Olazabal. The head is forged from 1025 carbon steel with V-FOIL weighting under a nickel chrome finish. Lofts are classic blade spec: a 35-degree 7-iron and 48-degree pitching wedge across the 2-PW range, two to three degrees weaker through the scoring clubs than the companion 1025C cavity back. Stock shafts were True Temper Dynamic Gold with a Golf Pride Tour Velvet grip. The Maltby MPF chart dates the design 2001; the spec database files it as a 2002 catalogue model, recorded here on the announcement-year convention.

Production status
Introduced in 2001, the MacGregor V-FOIL 1025M has no confirmed end date on file. LoftChart records a discontinuation year only where a source dates it, and none has been found for this set, so it may or may not still be in the MacGregor catalogue — check with MacGregor or a retailer before counting on a new set. Used sets appear on eBay, and should be measured against the chart above before buying, since irons are routinely bent from standard.

- The GolfWorks Maltby MPF ratings chart (golfworks.com/content/PDFs/Head_MPFs/MPFRatingsChart.pdf) — lists 'MACGREGOR V-Foil 1025m (forged)' as a 2001 introduction, the year recorded here; golfclubspec files the specs under 2002
- Note: MacGregor never published per-club offset or bounce for this model; those keys are omitted. No end-of-production year was published — the V-FOIL era gave way to MACTEC from 2004, but the date is unverified, so year_discontinued is left open
