About the MacGregor MT PRO-M

The MT PRO-M revived MacGregor's historic MT name for 2008 as a classic muscleback for the serious golfer — the company's last tour-blade before it ceased US operations in February 2009. The head is forged from 1025 carbon steel, then CNC-milled: a triangular muscle concentrates mass behind the strike and the face is flat-milled, in bright satin chrome with a limited gun-metal run. Lofts are traditional blade spec, a 35-degree 7-iron and 47-degree pitching wedge over the 3-PW set, every club swing-weighted at D3 on a .355 taper tip. Stock shafts were True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 or Nippon NS Pro 1150GH with Golf Pride DD2 grips, and left-handed sets were offered. It shares its loft, lie and length ladder exactly with the MT PRO-C cavity back so the two combine into one set.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a MacGregor MT PRO-M 7-iron?

The MacGregor MT PRO-M 7-iron has a loft of 35 degrees, a lie of 62.5 degrees and a length of 37 inches, swing-weighted at D3 like every club in the set.

Can the MT PRO-M be combined with the MT PRO-C?

Yes. MacGregor published identical loft, lie and length tables for the two 2008 MT models, so the muscleback PRO-M and cavity-back PRO-C combine into one set without bending.

When were MacGregor MT PRO-M irons made?

They launched for 2008 and production ended when MacGregor ceased US operations in February 2009, making the MT PRO-M the company's last muscleback of the original US era.

Finding a used set

The MacGregor MT PRO-M ran from 2008 to 2009 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search the used listings on eBay, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
