About the New Level 480-DB
The 480-DB (Dynamic Balance) was the largest model in New Level's 2024 480 series, the company's replacement for the long-running 902-OS. Rather than enlarging that head further, New Level gave the 480-DB an enhanced cavity with the series' angled weight port, reduced the offset and weakened the lofts relative to the 902-OS — a 33-degree 7-iron and 45-degree pitching wedge — while reporting minimal loss of ball speed in testing, and kept a thin topline and player-style sole on the slightly larger platform. The one-piece head is forged from 1020 carbon steel in satin chrome. It reached retail in April 2024, right-handed only, sold direct and through fitters at about $149 a club and built to order from New Level's shaft menu, so no stock shaft or swing weight is recorded. New Level began selling the 480 series off in March 2025 as the 702 line took over, and the company's 702+ page names the 480-DB among its previous models.

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of a New Level 480-DB 7-iron?
The New Level 480-DB 7-iron has a loft of 33 degrees, a lie of 62 degrees and a length of 37 inches.
How does the 480-DB differ from the 902-OS it replaced?
The 480-DB is slightly larger than the 480-TC but carries weaker lofts and less offset than the 902-OS, with an enhanced cavity and angled weight port; New Level reported only minimal distance and ball-speed loss in testing despite the weaker lofts.
When was the New Level 480-DB made?
It reached retail in April 2024 and was sold off from March 2025 as the 702 series replaced the 480 line; New Level names it among the 702+'s previous models.
Finding a used set
The New Level 480-DB ran from 2024 to 2025 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search the used listings on eBay, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
