About the New Level 702-MB
The 702-MB is the muscleback of New Level's 702 series, the generation that replaced the 623 and 480 lines when launch coverage ran in late January 2025 — New Level's own comparison chart names the 623-M and 623-MB as its previous models. The compact blade is forged in one piece from 1020 carbon steel with the series' SPT (Strategically Placed Tungsten) plug in the toe, a roughly 20-gram weight that balances the centre of gravity for neutral face control, and a blunted leading-edge bevel that works like bounce through the turf. Unusually for a blade, New Level publishes the same offset and bounce ladder as the 702-CB — the two share one chassis — and all three 702 models carry identical lofts, a 33-degree 7-iron and 45-degree pitching wedge over the 4-PW run, so they blend into combo sets. Sold direct and through fitters at about $150 a club, right-handed, built to order from New Level's shaft menu with no stock shaft or swing weight by design.

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of a New Level 702-MB 7-iron?
The New Level 702-MB 7-iron has a loft of 33 degrees, a lie of 62 degrees and a length of 37 inches — identical to the 702-CB and 702+, since all three share one ladder.
Is the New Level 702-MB a true blade?
It is a compact muscleback, but with the series' tungsten toe plug forged into the one-piece 1020 head for balance, and it carries the same published offset and bounce ladder as the 702-CB.
What did the 702-MB replace?
New Level's own comparison chart names the 623-M and 623-MB musclebacks as its previous models; the 702 series as a whole succeeded the 623 and 480 lines in 2025.
Where it sits in the lineup
Introduced in 2025, the New Level 702-MB is a current blade set in the New Level range as of October 2026, with no replacement announced. It replaced the New Level 623-MB. New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, and should be measured against this chart before buying.
- newlevelgolf.com official 702 MB spec chart (the '702 Forged Irons' series-breakdown page, retrieved October 2026) — the manufacturer table used here: loft, lie, offset (2.8 mm down to 1.9 mm, converted to inches; the chart's 6-iron cell misprints '2.MM5' for 2.5 mm), bounce, length, .370 hosel bore, RH only, chrome finish, and the no-stock-configuration note
- Note: New Level's chart lists the PW lie as 64.5 degrees, a 1.5-degree jump from the 9-iron's 63; the manufacturer figure is used here as published
