About the Ping G30
The G30 dropped the 3-iron from the stock set and strengthened the middle irons again, putting the 7-iron at 30.5 degrees. Lengths were re-cut on a new progression — the 4-iron is 38.875 inches and the 7-iron 37.0 — and offset was reduced across the board against the G25. Ping's colour-code (dot) system sets lie angle relative to standard: gold 4 flat, brown 3 flat, orange 2 flat, red 1 flat, BLACK standard, blue 1 upright, green 2 upright, white 3 upright, silver 4 upright, maroon 5 upright. The lies below are the BLACK (standard) lies.

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of a Ping G30 7-iron?
The Ping G30 7-iron has a loft of 30.5 degrees, a standard (black dot) lie of 61.88 degrees and a steel-shaft length of 37.0 inches.
When were Ping G30 irons made?
The G30 was introduced in 2014 and was replaced by the G in 2016.
Are Ping G30 lofts stronger than the G25?
Yes. The G30 7-iron is 30.5 degrees against 32 for the G25, and the G30 set starts at the 4-iron rather than the 3-iron.
Finding a used set
The Ping G30 ran from 2014 to 2016 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
