About the Tour Edge Hot Launch C523

The Hot Launch C523 is the third Competition Spec iron in Tour Edge's value line, announced on 11 October 2022 and at retail from 1 November 2022 as the 2023-season line at $79.99 per club. The 431 stainless cavity back keeps the C522's exact loft, lie and length chart — a 29-degree 7-iron that Tour Edge's own launch material placed at the milder end of modern game-improvement lofts — while reshaping the head with a more compact profile, a sharper high toe, a thinner top line and a slightly wider sole, with VIBRCOR TPU in the deep undercut cavity for feel. Stock shafts moved to the UST Mamiya HL-SST graphite (49-65 grams) and True Temper XP-85 steel, with the Lamkin Z5 grip, right- and left-hand availability and 4-iron-through-lob-wedge fitting range.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a Tour Edge Hot Launch C523 7-iron?

The Hot Launch C523 7-iron has a loft of 29 degrees, a lie of 62.5 degrees and a length of 37.25 inches.

Did the C523 change lofts from the C522?

No. The loft, lie and length chart is identical to the C522's; the changes were in head shaping — a more compact profile, sharper high toe, thinner top line and slightly wider sole — rather than the ladder.

What shafts did the Hot Launch C523 irons come with?

The stock graphite shaft was the UST Mamiya HL-SST, running from a 49-gram ladies flex to 65-gram stiff and extra-stiff, with the True Temper XP-85 steel in regular and stiff as the steel option.

How much did the Tour Edge C523 irons cost?

They launched at $79.99 per club on 1 November 2022, keeping the Hot Launch line's value positioning.

Finding a used set

The Tour Edge Hot Launch C523 ran from 2022 to 2024 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.

Data compiled from:
  • touredge.com/hotlaunchc523irons official product page, archive.org snapshot of 29 November 2022 — the manufacturer club specification chart, which is the same loft/lie/length table as the C522 (Tour Edge reused the C522 chart image because the numbers are unchanged), plus the UST Mamiya HL-SST stock graphite and True Temper XP-85 stock steel shaft copy, the Lamkin Z5 grip and right- and left-hand availability.
  • mygolfspy.com 'Tour Edge Hot Launch 523 Irons and Wedges' (dateline 2022-10-11) — independent confirmation of the 29-degree C523 7-iron, the VIBRCOR TPU undercut insert, the more compact head with thinner top line and wider sole, the UST Mamiya HL-SST (49g L to 65g S/XS) and True Temper XP-85 (R/S) stock shafts, the $79.99-per-club price, the 1 November 2022 retail date and the 4-iron-to-lob-wedge fitting range.
  • Year note: announced October 2022 and marketed as the 2023 line; year_introduced records the announcement year per the schema convention. year_discontinued 2024 reflects the Hot Launch 524 series announcement in February 2024. Tour Edge does not publish offset, bounce or swing weight for this model, so those keys are omitted.
