About the XXIO Prime 11

Prime 11 is the third XXIO Prime iron generation, carrying over the same loft, lie, bounce and length table used since the Prime 9 while refining the Super-TIX PLUS titanium face with dynamic variable thickness and adding a high-density tungsten-nickel toe weight for stability, plus a progressive centre-of-gravity height that runs lower in the long irons for carry and higher in the short irons for control. Lofts are notably strong for a super-game-improvement iron (a 42-degree pitching wedge against a roughly 45-degree category average). The stock XXIO Prime SP-1100 graphite shaft again uses Toray T1100G carbon fibre and Nanoalloy resin. Swing weight is C7 through the irons, C8 in the wedges. The stock set was 7-9-PW, sold individually as 5, 6, AW and SW.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of an XXIO Prime 11 7-iron?

The XXIO Prime 11 7-iron has a loft of 28 degrees, a lie of 62.5 degrees and a length of 37.25 inches.

Why is the XXIO Prime 11 pitching wedge loft so strong?

At 42 degrees it is roughly 3 degrees stronger than a typical super-game-improvement pitching wedge, which pushes distance up at the cost of needing a dedicated gap wedge to cover the yardage that a more traditional 45-degree PW would fill.

What is the swing weight of the XXIO Prime 11?

C7 through the irons, stepping up to C8 in the PW, AW and SW — very light, in keeping with the rest of the Prime line's ultra-lightweight positioning.

Finding a used set

The XXIO Prime 11 ran from 2020 to 2023 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.

Data compiled from:
  • 2ndswing.com 'XXIO Prime 11 Iron Set' specification table — full loft/length/lie/bounce table for the 5-iron through sand wedge (22-56 degrees, 38.25-35.75 inches, 61.5-63.5 degrees lie, 1-12 degrees bounce), the 5-9/PW/AW/SW eight-club set makeup, and C7 swing weight through the irons stepping to C8 in the wedges.
  • golfclubguru.com 'XXIO Prime 11 Men's Iron Set Review' — corroborates the cast construction, the 42-degree pitching wedge as notably strong versus a roughly 45-degree category average, wide soles with moderate offset, and low perimeter weighting for a high launch.
  • thegolfguys.com and pgatoursuperstore.com product listings — corroborate the Super-TIX PLUS titanium face, dynamic variable face thickness, progressive centre-of-gravity by loft, and the SP-1100 shaft (Toray T1100G, Nanoalloy resin).
  • Year note: year_introduced 2020 pairs Prime 11 with the contemporaneous XXIO Eleven numbered generation (announced Japan late 2019, US retail February 2020, per the xxio-eleven-irons.yaml entry on this site); year_discontinued 2023 follows Amazon/retailer listings dating the next Prime generation, Prime 12, to 2023.
