About the Callaway X-18 Pro Series

The X-18 Pro Series is the better-player version of the 2004 X-18, with a more compact head, a thinner topline and reduced offset while keeping the standard model's published ladder — a 33 degree 7-iron, 46 degree pitching wedge and the upright 65 degree wedge lies. Unlike the standard X-18 it was catalogued in right hand only. The range ran 2-iron to lob wedge, and the X-20 Tour took over the better-player slot when the X-20 generation arrived in 2007.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a Callaway X-18 Pro Series 7-iron?

The Callaway X-18 Pro Series 7-iron is 33 degrees, with a 62.5 degree lie and a 37 inch standard steel length — the same published numbers as the standard X-18.

What is the difference between the X-18 and the X-18 Pro Series?

The Pro Series has a smaller head, thinner topline and less offset for better players, and was made in right hand only. The published loft, lie and length ladder matches the standard X-18.

Were Callaway X-18 Pro Series irons available left-handed?

No. Callaway catalogued the X-18 Pro Series in right hand only, unlike the standard X-18.

Finding a used set

The Callaway X-18 Pro Series ran from 2004 to 2007 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.

Data compiled from:
  • Callaway Demandware ProductSpecs feed (ProductSpecs-Get), the manufacturer-authored source behind the View Specs panel on callawaygolfpreowned.com, product code irons-bb-x18-ps — loft, lie, length, dual swing weight columns and the right-hand-only availability for the 2-iron through lob wedge
  • 2ndswing.com Callaway X-18 Pro Series Iron Set specification table — agrees cell for cell on loft, lie and length; its single swing weight column (D2/D3/D5) matches the steel side of the Callaway feed and is the value recorded here
  • Bounce and offset were not published for this model in the sources located, so those columns are omitted rather than estimated
