Hosel adjustment

The Cleveland HALO XL has a glued, non-adjustable hosel — the loft printed on the head is the loft it plays. Loft and lie can only be altered by a clubmaker, so pick the stock loft to match your launch rather than planning to tune it later.

About the Cleveland HALO XL

The HALO XL hybrids launched in January 2024 with the HALO XL woods. The standard hybrid runs five lofts in three-degree steps from 18° to 30° on a 136 cc, very upright head built to be swung like an iron; the HALO XL Hy-Wood is Cleveland's half-fairway, half-hybrid — a 162 cc 17° "3+" and 147 cc 20° "4+" built to fairway-style lengths with an 8 g counterweight in the grip end. Cleveland wound down its metalwood range in early 2026, so the line was its last hybrid.

Frequently asked questions

What lofts does the Cleveland HALO XL hybrid come in?

The standard hybrid comes in 18, 21, 24, 27 and 30 degrees; the HALO XL Hy-Wood adds a 17 degree 3+ and 20 degree 4+ built to fairway-style lengths.

What is the Cleveland Hy-Wood?

Cleveland's half-fairway, half-hybrid: a head sized between the two, built about an inch and a half longer than the matching hybrid with an 8 gram counterweight in the grip end — an easy-launch alternative to both a 5-wood and a 2-hybrid.

Why are the HALO XL hybrid lies so upright?

Deliberately — at 60.5 to 62.5 degrees they are several degrees more upright than most hybrids, because Cleveland built the HALO XL to be delivered like an iron rather than swept like a wood.

Finding one used

The Cleveland HALO XL ran from 2024 to 2026 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search the used listings on eBay. Before buying used, check the stamped loft against the chart above and ask which hosel setting it is in — an adjustable hybrid may be set a degree or more away from the number on the sole, and sleeve adapters are brand- and generation-specific.
