Hosel adjustment chart

MyFly8 with SmartPad · loft ±1.5° · 8 settings.

There is no independent lie adjustment; the three Draw positions add draw bias at their loft instead. The SmartPad sole keeps the face visually square at address in all eight settings.

The chart shows the loft each setting plays relative to the stamped loft; "Draw" positions play the same loft with added draw bias (Cobra does not publish the exact face or lie delta of the draw setting). On a 9° head the settings run 7.5° to 10.5°; on a 10.5° head, 9° to 12°; on a 12° head, 10.5° to 13.5°.

About the Cobra Darkspeed

The Darkspeed is Cobra's 2024 driver family — presale 11 January, retail 19 January 2024 — and the last generation on the MyFly8 hosel before FutureFit33 arrived. Its PWR-BRIDGE suspends an internal weight bridge to free the sole for a larger, AI-designed H.O.T. face. The LS is the low-spin head with two 3 g front ports and a 12 g back weight; the X is the mainstream speed-and-forgiveness head with swappable 12 g/3 g weights; and the Max is the high-MOI model whose single 12 g weight sets neutral or draw bias, with women's and junior builds on the same head. The DS-ADAPT replaced the family in 2025.

Head variants

The heads this family is sold in, with each one’s stock loft options.

Darkspeed LS8°, 9°, 10.5°
The low-spin head — most crown curvature, highest rear skirt — with two 3 g front weights and a 12 g back weight for high swing speeds. The 10.5° head was special order, and a 44.5 inch Tour Length build was sold.
Darkspeed X9°, 10.5°, 12°
The mainstream head balancing speed and forgiveness: a 12 g back and 3 g front weight swap to raise flight (back) or lower it (front).
Darkspeed Max9°, 10.5°, 12°
The most forgiving model, with the lowest skirt and highest MOI; its single 12 g weight sets a neutral (rear) or draw (heel) bias. Women's and 12° junior builds use this head.

Frequently asked questions

What lofts does the Cobra Darkspeed come in?

The Darkspeed LS comes in 8, 9 and 10.5 degrees (10.5 was special order), and the Darkspeed X and Max in 9, 10.5 and 12. The MyFly8 hosel extends each head 1.5 degrees down and 1.5 up.

What is the Darkspeed adjustment chart?

MyFly8 has eight settings: −1.5, −1, standard and +1 degrees each in a neutral version, draw versions of −1, standard and +1, and a +1.5 top setting. A 10.5 degree head therefore plays anywhere from 9 to 12 degrees, and the SmartPad sole keeps the face square at address in every setting.

What is the difference between the Darkspeed X and Max?

The X is the mainstream head whose 12 gram and 3 gram weights swap front to back to trade spin against stability; the Max is the highest-MOI head with a more upright lie and a single 12 gram weight that sets neutral or heel-side draw bias.

Is the Cobra Darkspeed still in production?

No — the DS-ADAPT replaced it in January 2025. It remains a common used and closeout buy; note that its MyFly8 sleeve is not the same system as the newer FutureFit33 hosel.

Buying one

Cobra has since introduced the Cobra DS-ADAPT above it in the range, so the Darkspeed is at the end of its retail life rather than fully retired — closeout stock still turns up at retailers, and drivers one generation back are the sweet spot of the used market. Before buying used, check the stamped loft against the chart above and ask which hosel setting it is in — an adjustable driver may be set a degree or more away from the number on the sole, and sleeve adapters are brand- and generation-specific.
