About the Haywood MB

The Haywood MB is the direct-to-consumer brand's forged muscle back, announced on 2 November 2021 alongside the CB as the "2022 Haywood CB & MB" - a redesigned second iteration of the original MB that Haywood had sold since 2020. Heads are forged from 1020 carbon steel and 100% CNC-milled, with minimal offset, a thin topline and a narrow sole in the classic blade mould. Lofts are traditional - a 34-degree 7-iron and 46-degree pitching wedge - and match the CB club-for-club so the two blend into combo sets; the MB alone extends to a 20-degree 3-iron. Sold 3-PW and built to order from Haywood's shaft menu. Swing weights below are from Haywood's chart for a 110-gram shaft at standard length.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a Haywood MB 7-iron?

The Haywood MB 7-iron has a loft of 34 degrees, with a 62-degree lie, 37-inch length and just 0.07 inches of offset.

Is the Haywood MB a true blade?

Yes. It is a forged 1020 carbon steel muscle back with a thin topline, narrow sole and minimal offset, CNC-milled to final spec after forging.

How does the Haywood MB differ from the CB?

The two share identical lofts, lies and lengths; the CB adds perimeter weighting and a slightly wider sole for forgiveness, while the MB is the full muscle back and is the only one offered in a 3-iron.

Where it sits in the lineup

Introduced in 2021, the Haywood MB is a current blade set in the Haywood range, with no replacement announced. It replaced the Haywood MB (2020). New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, 2nd Swing and Golf Avenue, and should be measured against this chart before buying.
