About the Maltby TS-1
The TS-1 is the players head of Maltby's Tour Series, the forged hollow line Ralph Maltby's GolfWorks launched to prove a tour-profile iron could measure high on his own MPF forgiveness scale — the TS-1 rates 711, inside the Super Game Improvement band, despite a compact shape. On sale by early 2019 alongside the larger TS-2, it is a true billet-forged three-piece design: a 2 mm 1025C carbon steel face and 1025C body with an internal tungsten weight low and toward the toe, precision-welded and injection-filled with polymer behind the face to lift ball speed and soften feel, with a CNC-milled multi-groove face. Lofts are modern (32-degree 7-iron, 45-degree pitching wedge) across a 3-GW chart in satin polished chrome, right hand only, on a universal hosel that accepts .370 parallel or .355 taper shafts. GolfWorks sells the TS-1 as bare heads or built-to-spec custom sets rather than off the rack, so the lengths below are The GolfWorks' published standard men's steel assembly lengths. Still sold as of 2026, alongside the TS1-IM that joined the line in 2023.

What is the MPF rating of the Maltby TS-1?

Is the Maltby TS-1 forged?
Yes — a true billet-forged three-piece design: 1025C carbon steel body and 2 mm face with an internal tungsten toe weight, welded and injection-filled with polymer behind the face.
How do you buy Maltby TS-1 irons?
From The GolfWorks as bare heads or as custom-built sets to your specs; there is no off-the-rack retail version, and heads accept both .370 parallel and .355 taper shafts.
Where it sits in the lineup
Introduced in 2019, the Maltby TS-1 is a current players set in the Maltby range, with no replacement announced. New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, 2nd Swing and Golf Avenue, and should be measured against this chart before buying.
- The GolfWorks official Maltby TS-1 Forged Iron Heads page (golfworks.com/maltby-ts-1-forged-iron-heads/p/ma0293/) and its factory specification chart — 3-GW lofts 20/22.5/25/28.5/32/36/40.5/45/49.5, lies 60.5-64, offsets 0.120 to 0.090 inches, bounces 2-4 degrees, head weights 238-289 g, satin polished chrome finish, 1025C carbon steel, universal hosel and the MPF 701+ badge, plus the three-piece billet-forged, polymer-filled, tungsten-toe construction copy.
- The GolfWorks Head MPF Ratings chart (golfworks.com/content/PDFs/Head_MPFs/MPFRatingsChart.pdf, updated July 2026) — 'MALTBY TS1 #6 2019, MPF 711', which fixes year_introduced 2019; the companion TS2 is listed at 2018.
- Fit2YouGolf 'Maltby TS-1 and TS-2 Forged Irons', 19 January 2019 — independent clubfitter coverage of both models at launch, corroborating the 32-degree TS-1 7-iron and the hollow forged construction.
- Lengths are from The GolfWorks' published Standard Lengths chart (golfworks.com/images/art/StdLengths.pdf, men's steel: 39.0-inch 3-iron through 35.5-inch PW and GW) because Maltby heads are sold component-style and built to order; playing lengths vary per build, hence confidence medium.
