About the Maltby TS-2
The TS-2 opened Maltby's Tour Series in 2018 as the distance half of the pair the compact TS-1 completed a few months later. It is a three-piece, true billet-forged hollow iron — a 2 mm 1025C carbon steel face and 1025C body with an internal tungsten weight positioned low and toward the toe, precision-welded and, from the 4-iron through 9-iron, injection-filled with dense polymer behind the whole face to boost deflection and feel. Lofts run a degree to a degree and a half stronger than the TS-1 (30-degree 7-iron, 44-degree pitching wedge) with more offset and a larger blade, which is what pushes it into the players-distance class; on Maltby's own MPF forgiveness scale it rates 727 at the 6-iron, in the Super Game Improvement band. The 4-GW chart comes in satin polished chrome, right hand only, on a universal hosel accepting .370 parallel or .355 taper shafts. The GolfWorks sells it as bare heads or built-to-order custom sets, so the lengths below are the company's published standard men's steel assembly lengths. Still in the line as of 2026.

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of a Maltby TS-2 7-iron?
The Maltby TS-2 7-iron has a loft of 30 degrees and a lie of 62.5 degrees, with 0.125 inches of offset and a 37-inch length on The GolfWorks' standard steel build.
What is the difference between the Maltby TS-1 and TS-2?
Both are billet-forged hollow designs with tungsten toe weighting, but the TS-2 is the distance head: lofts one to two degrees stronger (30 against 32 at the 7-iron), more offset (0.140 against 0.120 inches at the long end) and a larger profile, while the TS-1 keeps the more compact players shape.
Is the Maltby TS-2 forgiving?
By Maltby's own measurement, yes — it rates 727 MPF at the 6-iron, inside the Super Game Improvement band, despite looking like a players iron.
Is the Maltby TS-2 still available?
Yes. As of 2026 The GolfWorks still sells TS-2 heads and custom builds, more than seven years after its 2018 introduction.
Where it sits in the lineup
Introduced in 2018, the Maltby TS-2 is a current players distance set in the Maltby range, with no replacement announced. New sets are built to the standard lofts, lies and lengths in the chart above, though a fitting can move any of them — so confirm the numbers on the order sheet. Used sets appear on eBay, 2nd Swing and Golf Avenue, and should be measured against this chart before buying.

- The GolfWorks Head MPF Ratings chart (golfworks.com/content/PDFs/Head_MPFs/MPFRatingsChart.pdf, updated July 2026) — 'MALTBY TS2 #6 2018, MPF 727', which fixes year_introduced 2018, a year before the TS1's 2019 listing.

- Lengths are from The GolfWorks' published Standard Lengths chart (golfworks.com/images/art/StdLengths.pdf, men's steel: 38.5-inch 4-iron through 35.5-inch PW and GW) because Maltby heads are sold component-style and built to order; playing lengths vary per build, hence confidence medium.
