About the New Level 480-MC
The 480-MC (Muscle Cavity) was the compact players iron of New Level's 2024 480 series, forged from 1020 carbon steel with a weight port centred directly behind the hitting area — there for the company's builders to control finished swing weight, not for the player to adjust. The profile is the smallest of the three 480 models, with a short heel-to-toe length, thin topline and narrow sole, and the lofts are strikingly traditional: a 35-degree 7-iron and 47-degree pitching wedge, weaker at the 4-iron than a TaylorMade P7MB. It reached retail in February 2024, two months before the 480-TC and 480-DB, sold right-handed only, direct and through fitters at about $149 a club and built to order from New Level's shaft menu, so no stock shaft or swing weight is recorded. New Level began selling the 480 series off in March 2025 as the 702 line took over; no 702 model maps directly onto the MC's compact muscle-cavity slot.

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of a New Level 480-MC 7-iron?
The New Level 480-MC 7-iron has a loft of 35 degrees, a lie of 62 degrees and a length of 37 inches.
Can the weight port in the 480-MC be adjusted by the player?
No. The centred weight port exists so New Level's builders can set the finished swing weight during assembly; the company states changing it has minimal effect on launch and spin and that it is not intended to be changed by the player.
When was the New Level 480-MC made?
It reached retail in February 2024, ahead of the 480-TC and 480-DB, and was sold off from March 2025 when the 702 series replaced the 480 line.
Finding a used set
The New Level 480-MC ran from 2024 to 2025 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search the used listings on eBay, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.

- pluggedingolf.com 'New Level 480-MC Irons Review' — corroborates the compact profile, narrow sole and the very traditional lofts (its comparison: weaker at the 4-iron than a TaylorMade P7MB)
- Note on year_discontinued: New Level announced in March 2025 on social media that it was sunsetting the line at $99 a club, the product page returned 404 by October 2026, and the 702 series had taken over the range — 2025 is recorded; the archived product page remained reachable into mid-2025 during the sell-off
