About the Nike VR_S Covert 2.0

The VR_S Covert 2.0 was the second-generation Covert iron, launched with the Covert 2.0 metalwoods for the 2014 season. It keeps the deep undercut cavity and thin high-strength face of the original Covert but with a reshaped sole and revised cosmetics. Lofts are identical to the first Covert - a 31-degree 7-iron and a 44-degree pitching wedge - and the offset remains generous, tapering from 0.193 inches at the 4-iron to 0.051 inches in the approach wedge. The stock set is 4-iron through approach wedge with a 3-iron available; figures below are the standard men's steel specification (graphite builds are about a quarter inch longer).

The stock set is 4-iron through pitching wedge plus a 48-degree approach wedge, with an 18-degree 3-iron available as an add-on.

Finding a used set

The Nike VR_S Covert 2.0 ran from 2014 to 2015 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.

Data compiled from:
  • InTheHoleGolf 'Nike VR_S Covert 2.0 Iron Set' specification table (product code NG14, retrieved July 2026) - supplied loft, lie, length and offset for 3-iron through AW; steel lengths used here, with the listed graphite builds roughly a quarter inch longer.
  • 2nd Swing Golf VRS Covert 2.0 listings - corroborate the 4-PW/AW set composition and the True Temper Dynalite 105 steel and Kuro Kage graphite stock shafts.
  • The loft ladder (21/24/27/31/35/39/44/48 for 4-AW) is identical to the first-generation VR_S Covert table used elsewhere in this repository, which supports the retailer numbers; nikegolf.com pages from this era are not retrievable via the Wayback CDX index, so all figures are retailer-sourced, hence confidence: medium.
