Lofts are the stamped stock options for each head, factory standard. The hosel chart below shows how far each can be adjusted from its stamped loft.

Length note: 45.75 inches is the standard build with the stock counter-balanced ALTA CB 55 Slate; builds with the Ping Tour, Tensei AV Raw or Aldila Rogue shafts are 45.25 inches. Ping publishes lie as the average across the five neutral-lie hosel positions.

Trajectory Tuning 2.0 · loft ±1.5° · 8 settings.

Three flat positions sit 3° flatter than standard; there is no upright setting. Lowering loft opens the face slightly and adding loft closes it, as on any hosel-based adjuster.

The chart comes from Ping's own adjustability diagram and carried unchanged into the G430 and G440, so sleeves and settings interchange across the generations.

About the Ping G425

The G425 is Ping's 2021-2022 driver family and was the forgiveness benchmark of its day: the G425 Max's combined MOI approached 10,000 g·cm² years before "10K" became a marketing category. The Max carries a 26 g movable tungsten backweight with Neutral, Draw and Fade positions; the 445 cc LST cuts several hundred rpm of spin with a 17 g CG shifter; and the SFT is the fixed-weight draw model, sold in 10.5° only. Announced for pre-sale on 11 January 2021, the family ran until the G430 replaced it in 2023, and it remains one of the most recommended used drivers for its price-to-forgiveness ratio.

Head variants

The heads this family is sold in, with each one’s stock loft options.

G425 Max9°, 10.5°, 12°

G425 LST9°, 10.5°
The low-spin head: about 200 rpm less than the G410 LST and 500-700 rpm less than the G425 Max, with a 17 g three-position CG shifter. Head weight 208 g, swing weight D4.
G425 SFT10.5°
The draw model, 10.5° only, with a fixed 23 g tungsten heel-side backweight worth roughly 25 yards of right-to-left versus the Max. Head weight 202 g, swing weight D1.

Frequently asked questions

What lofts does the Ping G425 come in?

The G425 Max comes in 9, 10.5 and 12 degrees; the G425 LST in 9 and 10.5; and the G425 SFT in 10.5 only.

What is the G425 adjustment chart?

Ping's Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel has eight settings: standard, +1, +1.5, −1 and −1.5 degrees of loft at the standard lie, plus flat versions of standard, +1 and −1 that sit 3 degrees flatter. There is no upright setting.

Is the Ping G425 Max still worth buying used?

It remains one of the best value used drivers: its near-10K MOI is still competitive with current forgiveness heads, its hosel chart matches the newer G430 and G440, and used prices sit far below either. Check the stamped loft and hosel setting against this chart before buying.

What is the difference between the G425 Max and G425 LST?

The Max is the 460 cc forgiveness head with a 26 gram movable backweight; the LST is a smaller 445 cc head whose 17 gram CG shifter and forward balance cut spin by roughly 500-700 rpm for faster swings.

Finding one used

The Ping G425 ran from 2021 to 2023 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search the used listings on eBay. Before buying used, check the stamped loft against the chart above and ask which hosel setting it is in — an adjustable driver may be set a degree or more away from the number on the sole, and sleeve adapters are brand- and generation-specific.
