Lofts are the stamped stock options for each head, factory standard. The hosel chart below shows how far each can be adjusted from its stamped loft.

Length note: Standard lengths are based on the stock ALTA CB Black 65 shaft. Ping publishes lie as the average across the five neutral-lie hosel positions; no average lie was published for the LST 3-wood.

Three flat positions sit up to 3° flatter than standard; there is no upright setting. Lowering loft opens the face slightly and adding loft closes it.

About the Ping G430

The G430 fairway woods reached retail in January 2023 with the G430 drivers, led by a thinner, shallower Facewrap maraging steel face and Spinsistency variable roll for more ball speed low on the face. The Max is the core four-loft head, the SFT the draw-biased slice corrector, and both are offered in High Launch (HL) builds with an ALTA Quick shaft and lighter head. A titanium G430 LST 3-wood — 2041 beta-titanium face, 80 g tungsten sole plate and Carbonfly Wrap crown — followed in June 2023 after manufacturing delays. The G440 fairways replaced the line in January 2025.

Frequently asked questions

What lofts do the Ping G430 fairway woods come in?

The G430 Max comes in 15, 18, 21 and 24 degrees; the G430 SFT in 16, 19 and 22; and the titanium G430 LST in a single 15 degree 3-wood.

Is the Ping G430 fairway wood adjustable?

Yes — every head uses Ping's eight-position Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel, with ±1.5 degrees of loft and flat positions up to 3 degrees flatter than standard.

What is special about the G430 LST 3-wood?

It is a titanium fairway: a 2041 beta-titanium face and Ti 8-1-1 body with an 80 gram tungsten sole plate and Carbonfly Wrap crown. Ping claimed about seven yards over the steel Max 3-wood from faster ball speed and less spin, at a 600 dollar premium price.

Buying one

Ping has since introduced the Ping G440 above it in the range, so the G430 is at the end of its retail life rather than fully retired — closeout stock still turns up at retailers, and fairway woods one generation back are the sweet spot of the used market. Before buying used, check the stamped loft against the chart above and ask which hosel setting it is in — an adjustable fairway wood may be set a degree or more away from the number on the sole, and sleeve adapters are brand- and generation-specific.
