About the Mizuno MP-18 MMC

The MP-18 MMC is the multi-material model in Mizuno's MP-18 family, combining an HD Grain Flow Forged 1025E mild carbon steel body with a titanium insert and tungsten toe weighting in the longer irons. It is the most forgiving of the three MP-18 heads and runs a separate spec from the MB and SC, roughly 2 degrees stronger through most of the set with a 32-degree 7-iron and noticeably more offset. The stock set was 4-PW, with Fli-Hi models covering the long irons. Specs below are the men's standard steel-shaft build.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a Mizuno MP-18 MMC 7-iron?

The Mizuno MP-18 MMC 7-iron has a loft of 32 degrees, with a 61.5-degree lie and a 36.75-inch steel-shaft length.

Why are the MP-18 MMC lofts different from the MP-18 MB and SC?

The MMC is built as a separate spec that runs about 2 degrees stronger than the MB and SC from the 4-iron through the 9-iron, though both lines finish at a 46-degree pitching wedge. It also carries more offset, from 0.138 inches in the 4-iron down to 0.098 inches in the pitching wedge.

What clubs came in the stock Mizuno MP-18 MMC set?

The MMC was sold as a 4-PW set. Long-iron replacements came from the separate MP-18 MMC Fli-Hi models rather than a 3-iron in the same head shape.

Finding a used set

The Mizuno MP-18 MMC ran from 2017 to 2019 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
