About the TaylorMade P790 (2021)
The 2021 P790 is the third generation of TaylorMade's hollow-body forged distance iron, replacing the 2019 model and using a thinner forged face with the lighter SpeedFoam Air filling and a repositioned tungsten weight. Lofts carried over unchanged from the 2017 original, with a 30.5-degree 7-iron and a 45-degree pitching wedge, but the set is built a quarter inch longer through the 3-iron to 9-iron and with less long-iron offset, so a 3-iron measures 39.00 inches with 3.5mm of offset against 38.75 inches and 3.9mm on the first generation. Bounce is progressive, from 0 degrees in the 3-iron to 11.5 degrees in the approach wedge. Numbers below are the men's standard right-handed steel build.

Frequently asked questions
What is the loft of a TaylorMade P790 (2021) 7-iron?
The TaylorMade P790 (2021) 7-iron has a loft of 30.5 degrees, with a 62.5-degree lie and a 37.00-inch steel-shaft length.
Are the 2021 P790 lofts different from the 2017 P790?
No. Both generations use 19, 21, 23.5, 26.5, 30.5, 35, 40, 45 and 50 degrees from 3-iron to approach wedge. The 2021 set is a quarter inch longer in the 3-iron through 9-iron and carries slightly less offset in the long irons, which is where the distance difference comes from.

The 2021 P790 pitching wedge is 45 degrees, with a 50-degree approach wedge to complete the published 3-iron through approach wedge range.
Finding a used set
The TaylorMade P790 (2021) is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.
