About the PXG 0311 P GEN5

The 0311 P is the middle head of PXG's GEN5 line: a mid-size profile with moderate offset, forged from 8620 carbon steel around an XCOR2 core with a thin HT1770 maraging face. Lofts sit four degrees stronger than the 0311 T at every club — 30 degrees at the 7-iron, 44 at the pitching wedge — and offset runs almost twice the T's. Bounce is progressive from 6 degrees at the 4-iron to 12 at the wedges.

Frequently asked questions

What is the loft of a PXG 0311 P GEN5 7-iron?

The PXG 0311 P GEN5 7-iron has a loft of 30 degrees, a lie of 62.5 degrees and a length of 37.00 inches.

How strong are PXG 0311 P GEN5 lofts?

Moderately strong for a players-distance iron — 30 degrees at the 7-iron and 44 at the pitching wedge, four degrees stronger than the 0311 T of the same generation.

What is XCOR2?

PXG's second-generation polymer core. It fills the hollow head, supports the thin maraging face so it can flex further without failing, and damps the sound the empty cavity would otherwise make.

Did PXG 0311 P specs change from GEN5 to GEN6?

No. The GEN6 0311 P publishes the same lofts, lies, lengths, offsets and bounce figures as the GEN5.

Finding a used set

The PXG 0311 P GEN5 ran from 2022 to 2023 and is no longer in production, so the used market is the only source. Search eBay, 2nd Swing, Golf Avenue and the PGA Tour Superstore trade-in listings, and check the loft and lie against the chart above before buying — sets this age have often been bent from standard.

Data compiled from:
  • 2ndswing.com PXG 0311 P GEN5 Chrome Iron Set specification table — loft, lie, length, offset and bounce for the 4-iron through gap wedge.
  • pluggedingolf.com 'PXG 0311 P GEN5 Irons Review' and mygolfspy.com 'PXG 0311 GEN5 Irons' — the forged 8620 body, HT1770 maraging face and XCOR2 core, and the P's position between the T and XP heads.
  • Note: swing weight and stock shafts were not published as a single stock specification; PXG builds to order from a long shaft menu, so no stock shaft is recorded.
